“A Canaanite woman…came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, “Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.” He said in reply, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But the woman came and did him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.” He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.” Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

“Pray with great confidence, based upon the goodness and infinite generosity of God and upon the promises of Jesus Christ. God is a spring of living water which flows unceasingly into the hearts of those who pray.” Saint Louis de Montfort

Father, in all that we go through we are like this Canaanite woman; have pity on us, heal those who are hurting; help us in each and every moment of need even though we are not worthy; increase our faith that it will sustain us until you have answered our prayers. Amen

“Una muer Cananea…entró y le suplicó, “apiádate de mí, Señor, ¡Hijo de David! Mi hija estaatormentada por un demonio.” Pero el no contestó ni una palabra. Sus discípulos vinieron y le dijeron, “Mándala salir, pues sigue gritando,” El respondió, “Yo solo fui enviado para los ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.” Pero la mujer llegó y le rindió homenaje, diciendo, “Señor,ayúdame.” Jesús respondió, “No está bien quitarles la comida a los niños y echársela a los perros.” Ella le dijo, “Por favor Señor, pues hasta los perros comen de las migajas que caen de la mesa de sus dueños.” Entonces Jesús respondió, “¡Mujer, que grande es tu fe! Que se haga como tu deseas.” Y su hija sanó en esa hora.

“Oren  con gran confianza, basándose en la bondad y generosidad infinita de Dios y en las promesas de Jesucristo. Dios es un manantial de agua viva que fluye sin cesar dentro los corazones de aquellos que oran.” San Luis de Monteforte 

Padre, nosotros somos como la mujer Cananea, padeciendo por todo lo que nos pasa. Ten misericordia de nosotros, sana a los que sufren y aunque no seamos dignos, ayúdanos en todo y cada momento de necesidad; aumenta nuestra fe para que nos sostenga hasta que tu hayas escuchado nuestras suplicas. Amen
