“This is the law and the prophets. ‘Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate, and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.” Matthew 7:12-14.

“Never forget that the way which leads to heave is narrow; that the gate leading to life is narrow and low; that there are but few who find it and enter by it; and if there be some who go in and tread the narrow path for some time, there are but very few who persevere therein.” St. Clare of Assisi.

Lord God, it seems most often it is the battle within that weighs us down. Shall we surrender again to the Holy Spirit? Or shall we choose again to go our own way, choosing the wide road that leads us away from You? Hedge us in Lord; surround us with Your mercy, help us live on the narrow way that keeps us tethered to You. Amen.

"Esta es la ley y los profetas. ' Entra por la puerta estrecha; porque ancha es la puerta, y espacioso el camino que lleva a la perdición, y muchos son los que entran por ella. ¡Pero ¿que estrecha es la puerta, y estrecho el camino que conduce a la vida! Y los que lo encuentran son pocos". Mateo 7:12-14.

"Nunca olvides que el camino que conduce al cielo es angosto; que la puerta que conduce a la vida es estrecha y baja; que son pocos los que la encuentran y entran por ella; y si hay algunos que entran y pisan el camino angosto por algún tiempo, son muy pocos los que perseveran en él" Santa Clara de Asís.

Señor Dios, parece que la mayoría de las veces es la batalla interior la que nos agobia. ¿Nos rendiremos de nuevo al Espíritu Santo? ¿O elegiremos de nuevo seguir nuestro propio camino, eligiendo el camino ancho que nos aleja de Ti? Vuélvenos en el Señor; rodéanos con Tu misericordia, ayúdanos a vivir en el camino angosto que nos mantiene atados a Ti. Amén.
