“And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’ You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.” Mark 7:6-8.

“As pride is the beginning of all sin, so humility is the foundation of all virtue.  Learn to be really humble, and not as the hypocrite, humble merely in appearance. St. Bonaventure.

Lord Jesus, save us from hypocrisy. May we respect and hold fast to Your divinely given doctrines rather than our human precepts; honoring You not simply with our lips but with our hearts. Amen.

"Y él les dijo: "Bien profetizó Isaías de vosotros hipócritas, segun está escrito: 'Este pueblo me honra con sus labios, pero su corazón está lejos de mí; En vano me adoran, enseñando como doctrinas los preceptos de los hombres". Dejas el mandamiento de Dios y te aferras a la tradición de los hombres". Marcos 7:6-8.

"Así como el orgullo es el principio de todo pecado, así la humildad es el fundamento de toda virtud.  Aprende a ser realmente humilde, y no como el hipócrita, humilde simplemente en apariencia. San Buenaventura.

Señor Jesús, sálvanos de la hipocresía. Ruego que respetemos y nos aferremos a Tus doctrinas divinamente dadas en lugar de a nuestros preceptos humanos; honrándote no simplemente con nuestros labios sino con nuestros corazones. Amén.
