Thursday April 6, 2023 Holy Thursday – Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper

“Jesus said to the Apostles ‘Do you realize what I have done for you?  . . . If I, therefore, the Master and Teacher have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” John 13:12, 14.

“To wash your feet, this is a symbol, a sign that I am at your service. But it also means that we have to help each other. This sign is a caress from  Jesus, because Jesus came exactly for this, to serve and to help us.” Pope Francis.

Lord God, You are truly humble, and yet Creator of all that exists. Love motivated everything You did while living on earth. May love be our motivation and our power, for all we do, and in this may we become truly humble, like You in Your Mercy, Amen.

"Jesús dijo a los apóstoles: '¿Se dan cuenta de lo que he hecho por ustedes?  . . . Por lo tanto, si yo, el Amo y Maestro, les he lavado los pies, también ustedes deben lavaros los pies unos a otros. Les he dado un modelo a seguir, para que como yo lo he hecho por ustedes, ustedes también lo hagan". Juan 13:12, 14.

"Lavar sus pies, esto es un símbolo, una señal de que estoy a su servicio. Pero también significa que tenemos que ayudarnos unos a otros. Este signo es una caricia de Jesús, porque Jesús vino exactamente para esto, para servirnos y ayudarnos". Papa Francisco.

Señor Dios, Tú eres verdaderamente humilde y, sin embargo, Creador de todo lo que existe. El amor motivó todo lo que hiciste mientras viviste en la tierra. Que el amor sea nuestra motivación y nuestro poder, por todo lo que hacemos, y en esto podamos llegar a ser verdaderamente humildes, como Tú en Tu Misericordia, Amén.
