Sunday of the Ascension, May 21, 2023

“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.

“Beware of despairing about yourself.  You are commanded to place your trust in God, and not in yourself.” St. Augustine.

Lord Jesus, as Church we begin the long journey with Your Spirit until You return. You did not depart because You are always with us. Give us the grace to be ever confident that You are the constant companion on all the journeys we take. Amen.

"Jesús se acercó y les dijo: Toda autoridad en el cielo y en la tierra me ha sido dada. Vayan, pues, y hagan discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que les he enseñado a ustedes; yo estoy con ustedes todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo." Mateo 28:18-20.

"Ten cuidado de desesperarte contigo mismo.  Se te manda poner tu confianza en Dios, y no en ti mismo". San Agustín.

Señor Jesús, como Iglesia comenzamos el largo viaje en Tu Espíritu hasta que regreses. No te fuiste porque siempre estás con nosotros. Danos la gracia de estar siempre seguros de que Tú eres el compañero constante en todos los viajes que hacemos. Amén.
