The St. Joseph Chapel located at Ash and 7th Street in Carpinteria has finally completed its recent refurbishments and is now open to the public once more. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed their time, effort, and resources to make this refurbishment possible. Your dedication and hard work have truly made a difference.

A special thank you goes out to our parishioners, who have patiently waited for the reopening of the chapel. Your unwavering support and understanding have been greatly appreciated throughout this process.

We are particularly grateful to parishioner Pete Flynn for her exceptional stained glass work behind the main altar. The original clear glass windows had sustained irreparable damage, and Ms. Flynn graciously offered to create new stained glass ones. After submitting her drawings and receiving approval from Msgr. Martini, Ms. Flynn enlisted the help of her brother, Jeff Tortorelli of Tortorelli Creations, to complete the woodwork surrounding the stained glass windows. Mr. Tortorelli also meticulously refurbished the Crucifix hanging over the main altar. The end result is a stunning combination of stained glass and woodwork that beautifully complements the chapel's history and ambiance.

The re-opening of the St. Joseph Chapel took place on Monday, February 5, 2024, with Mass celebrated by St. Joseph Church Associate Pastor, Fr. Rene Haarpaintner. It was a joyous occasion, attended by some of our longtime parishioners. Remarkably, the first reading during the Mass was about the building of the Temple, which seemed like a fitting coincidence.

We invite you to come and witness the beauty of the newly refurbished St. Joseph Chapel for yourself. The stunning stained glass windows and intricate woodwork are truly a sight to behold. Join us for Mass and experience the spiritual atmosphere that this sacred space provides. Masses are held daily, Monday through Saturday. English Masses are at 7:30 am, Monday through Saturday and Spanish Masses are at 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

La Capilla de San José ubicada en Ash y 7th Street en Carpinteria finalmente completó sus recientes remodelaciones y ahora está abierta al público una vez más. Nos gustaría extender nuestro más sentido agradecimiento a todos aquellos que han aportado su tiempo, esfuerzo y recursos para hacer posible esta reforma. Su dedicación y arduo trabajo realmente han marcado la diferencia.

Un agradecimiento especial a nuestros feligreses, que han esperado pacientemente la reapertura de la capilla. Su inquebrantable apoyo y comprensión han sido muy apreciados a lo largo de este proceso.

Estamos particularmente agradecidos con el feligrés Pete Flynn por su excepcional trabajo en vidrieras detrás del altar principal. Las ventanas de vidrio transparente originales habían sufrido daños irreparables y la Sra. Flynn se ofreció amablemente a crear nuevas vidrieras. Después de enviar sus dibujos y recibir la aprobación de Mons. Martini, la Sra. Flynn contó con la ayuda de su hermano, Jeff Tortorelli de Tortorelli Creations, para completar la carpintería que rodea las vidrieras. La reapertura de la Capilla de San José tuvo lugar el lunes 5 de febrero de 2024, con una Misa celebrada por el Pastor Asociado de la Iglesia de San José, el P. René Haarpaintner. Fue una ocasión alegre, a la que asistieron algunos de nuestros feligreses de toda la vida. Sorprendentemente, la primera lectura durante la Misa fue sobre la construcción del Templo, lo que parecía una coincidencia apropiada.

Las impresionantes vidrieras y la intrincada carpintería son realmente un espectáculo digno de contemplar.
