“If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noon day. And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your desire with good things, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.” Isaiah 58:9-12.

“People say: what is the sense of our small effort? They cannot see that we must lay one brick at a time, take one step at a time. A pebble cast into a pond causes ripples in all directions. Father, we look forward to a new world, a new world order but our input is vital in making this a reality. Give us the grace to play our part, making things right without giving excuses for what still remains wrong and unattended to. Amen.

"Si quitan de entre ustedes el yugo, el señalamiento del dedo y la maldad, si sirves a los hambrientos y satisfacéis el deseo de los afligidos, entonces tu luz se elevará en la oscuridad y tu penumbra será como el día del mediodía. Y el Señor te guiará continuamente y satisfará tu deseo con cosas buenas y fortalecerá tus huesos; y serás como un jardín regado, como un manantial de agua, cuyas aguas no fallan. Y tus antiguas ruinas serán reconstruidas; levantarás los cimientos de muchas generaciones; serás llamado el reparador de la brecha, el restaurador de calles para habitar". Isaías 58:9-12.

"La gente dice: ¿cuál es el sentido de nuestro pequeño esfuerzo? No pueden ver que debemos poner un ladrillo a la vez, dar un paso a la vez. Un guijarro arrojado a un estanque causa ondas en todas las direcciones. Cada uno de nuestros pensamientos, palabras y hechos es así. Nadie tiene derecho a sentarse y sentirse desesperado. Padre, esperamos un nuevo mundo, un nuevo orden mundial, pero nuestro aporte es vital para hacer de esto una realidad. Danos la gracia de desempeñar nuestro papel, haciendo las cosas bien sin dar excusas para lo que todavía permanece mal y desatendido. Amén.
