Monday, May 29, 2023 Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church

“Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother’s sister Mary, the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold your mother.”  John 19:25-27.

“Like our Lady, remain at the Cross of Jesus and you will never be deprived of comfort.” St. Padre Pio.

Lord Jesus, we won’t know until heaven how great a gift You’ve given us in Your Mother, who is now our Mother. We believe though, that her heart is undone with love, and so we are precious to her.  Through Mary’s intercession may the Church be guided and united in You Lord. Amen.

"Junto a la cruz de Jesús estaban su madre, y la hermana de su madre, María, la esposa de Cleofás, y María de Magdala. Cuando Jesús vio a su madre, y al discípulo a quien amaba, le dijo a su madre: "Mujer, he aquí a tu hijo". Entonces le dijo al discípulo: "He aquí a tu madre".  Juan 19:25-27.

"Como la Virgen, permanece en la Cruz de Jesús y nunca seras privados de consuelo". San Padre Pío.

Señor Jesús, no sabremos hasta en el cielo cuán grande es el regalo que nos has dado en Tu Madre, que ahora es nuestra Madre. Creemos, sin embargo, que su corazón se deshace con amor, y por lo tanto somos preciosos para ella.  Que por intercesión de María la Iglesia sea guiada y unida en Ti, Señor. Amén.
