“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?  . . . You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:3-5.

“Speak to others of the great mercy of God.  Sometimes people are helped by your telling of your own lamentable past.” St. Francis Xavier.

Lord Jesus, it is so easy to judge the simple words and actions (specks) of others when in actual fact ours are worse (logs) in our life. Forgive our hypocrisy Lord. Give us the grace to refrain from rashly and harshly judging others. Amen.

"¿Por qué ves la pelusa que está en el ojo de tu hermano, pero no notas el tronco que está en tu propio ojo?  . . . Hipócrita, primero saca el tronco de tu propio ojo, y luego verás claramente para sacar la pelusa del ojo de tu hermano". Mateo 7:3-5.

"Habla a los demás de la gran misericordia de Dios.  A veces la gente es ayudada por tu relato de tu propio pasado lamentable." San Francisco Javier.

Señor Jesús, es tan fácil juzgar las palabras y acciones simples (pelusa) de los demás cuando en realidad las nuestras son peores (troncos) en nuestra vida. Perdona nuestra hipocresía Señor. Danos la gracia de abstenernos de juzgar precipitada y duramente a los demás. Amén.
