“Jesus said to His disciples: “You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.” Matthew 5:38-42.

“Let us pray, bear little crosses, and greatly love the souls of all our neighbors without exception, friends or enemies.” St. Maximillian Kolbe.

Loving Father, the path of non-resistance is not an easy path to take. But You took it. They wanted to kill You and You let them do it so that You may win for something far greater than what they submitted You to. Bless us Lord that we may reap greater graces when we do not retaliate. Amen.

Cuando alguien te golpee en la mejilla derecha, gira la otra hacia él también. Si alguien te hace un pleito por la camisa entrégale también tu capa. Si alguien te presiona para que sirvas una milla, ve con él durante dos millas. Da al que te pida, y no le des la espalda al que quiere pedir prestado". Mateo 5:38-42.

Padre amoroso, el camino de la no resistencia no es un camino fácil de tomar. Pero Tú lo tomaste. Ellos querían matarte y Tú les permitiste hacerlo para que Tú pudieras ganar por algo mucho más grande de lo que te sometieron. Bendícenos, Señor, para que podamos cosechar mayores gracias cuando no tomemos represalias. Amén.
