Monday July 3, 2023 Feast of St. Thomas, Apostle.

“Then Jesus spoke to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it into my side. Do not be unbelieving any more but believe.’ Thomas replied, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him: You believe because you can see me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” John 20:27-29.

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Martin Luther King Jr.

God our Father, like Thomas we also commit this sin of unbelief. Give us the grace to believe without first having seen Your marvels. Amen.

"Entonces Jesús dijo a Tomás: 'Pon tu dedo aquí; Mira, aquí están mis manos. Dame tu mano; métela en mi costado. Deja de negar y cree'. Tomás respondió: "¡Señor mío y Dios mío!" Jesús le dijo: Tú crees porque puedes verme. Bienaventurados los que no han visto y sin embargo creen". Juan 20:27-29.

Dios Padre nuestro, como Tomás, también cometemos este pecado de incredulidad. Danos la gracia de creer sin haber visto primero Tus maravillas. Amén.
