“If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would have his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” Mark 8:34-36.

“You must accept your cross. If you bear it courageously it will carry you to heaven.” St. John Vianney.

Lord Jesus, thank You for teaching us that to act against our selfish inclinations and pious camouflage, to reach out spontaneously with practical assistance to the other who may not have anything to wear or food for the day means taking up one’s cross. That it is Your way to stand by someone in need or in disgrace. Amen.

"Si algún hombre viene detrás de mí, que se niegue a sí mismo y tome su cruz y me siga. Porque quien quiera tener su vida la perderá; y quien pierda su vida por mi causa y la del Evangelio la salvará. Porque ¿de qué le sirve a un hombre ganar el mundo entero y perder su vida?" Marcos 8:34-36.

"Debes aceptar tu cruz.  Si lo soportas con valentía, te llevará al cielo". San Juan Vianney.

Señor Jesús, gracias por enseñarnos que actuar contra nuestras inclinaciones egoístas y camuflaje piadoso, llegar espontáneamente con ayuda práctica al otro que puede no tener nada que usar o comida para el día significa tomar la cruz. Que es Tu manera de estar al lado de alguien necesitado o en desgracia. Amén.
