“At that time: The Jews disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:52-54.

“Recognize in this bread what hung on the cross, and in this chalice what flowed from His side…whatever was announced…beforehand in the sacrifices of the Old Testament pertains to this one sacrifice, which is revealed in the New Testament.” St. Augustine

Lord Jesus, the invitation to commune on You in the Eucharist is a must for eternal life. You give us Your Body, Your flesh to eat and Your Blood to drink. The eating of You and drinking of You is life-giving. I long for this new life You give us when in the Eucharist we communicate on Your Body and Blood. Amen.

"Los judíos discutían entre ellos, diciendo: "¿Cómo puede este hombre darnos su carne para comer?" Entonces Jesús les dijo: "En verdad les digo que si no comen la carne del Hijo del Hombre y beben su sangre, no tienen vida en ustedes; el que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre tiene vida eterna, y yo lo resucitaré en el ultimo día". Juan 6:52-54.

"Reconoce en este pan lo que colgaba de la cruz, y en este cáliz lo que fluía de su costado... lo que se anunció... de antemano en los sacrificios del Antiguo Testamento se refiere a este único sacrificio, que se revela en el Nuevo Testamento". San Agustín.

Señor Jesús, la invitación a comulgar contigo en la Eucaristía es una necesidad para la vida eterna. Nos das Tu Cuerpo, Tu carne para comer y Tu Sangre para beber. Comer y beber de Ti es vivificante. Anhelo esta nueva vida que nos das cuando en la Eucaristía nos comunicamos en Tu Cuerpo y Sangre. Amén.
