Easter Vigil April 16, 2022

“On the first day of the week, at early dawn, the women went to the tomb . . . And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb . . . While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel; and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the death? He is not here, but has risen.” Luke 24:1-6.

“Never let anything so fill you with sorrow as to make you forget the joy of Christ risen.” St. Teresa of Calcutta.

Lord Jesus, after a brief moment of sadness for Your friends, You bring them new joy; for You are risen from the dead. May our day-to-day pain and suffering be only interludes for lasting joy; that we may always triumph over all that weigh us down. Amen.

"El primer día de la semana, al amanecer, las mujeres fueron a la tumba... Y encontraron que la piedra había sido removida de la tumba... Mientras estaban perplejas por esto, he aquí, dos hombres estaban a su lado con ropa deslumbrante; estaban muy asustadas que no se atrevían a levantar sus rostros del suelo, los hombres les dijeron: "¿Por qué buscan a los vivos entre los muertos? Él no está aquí, Resucitó". Lucas 24:1-6.

"Nunca dejes que nada te llene de tristeza tanto como para hacerte olvidar el gozo de Cristo resucitado". Santa Teresa de Calcuta.

Señor Jesús, después de un breve momento de tristeza por Tus amigos, les traes nueva alegría; porque tú has resucitado de entre los muertos. Que nuestro dolor y sufrimiento cotidianos sean sólo interludios para una alegría duradera; para que siempre podamos triunfar sobre todo lo que nos pesa. Amén.
