Saturday January 1, 2022: Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God

“The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger…they made known the message that had been told them about this child…and Mary kept all these things in her heart.” Luke 2:16-17, 19.

“Mary, give me your heart: so beautiful, so pure, so immaculate; your Heart so full of love and humility that I may be able to receive Jesus in the Bread of life and love Him as you love Him and serve Him in the distressing guise of the poor.” St. Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

Lord God, Mary was filled with humility, even as Mother of the Son of God.  May we learn from her how to live joyfully in You.  Through her intercession may we grow day by day in wisdom, humility and love. Amen.

"Los pastores fueron a toda prisa a Belén y encontraron a María y José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre... dieron a conocer el mensaje que les habían contado sobre este niño... y María guardó todas estas cosas en su corazón". Lucas 2:16-17, 19.

"María, dame tu corazón: tan hermoso, tan puro, tan inmaculado; tu Corazón tan lleno de amor y humildad que pueda recibir a Jesús en el Pan de vida y amarlo como lo amas y lo sirves en la angustiante apariencia de los pobres". Santa Madre Teresa de Calcuta.

Señor Dios, María estaba llena de humildad, así como Madre del Hijo de Dios.  Que aprendamos de ella a vivir con alegría en Ti  Que por su intercesión crezcamos día a día en sabiduría, humildad y amor. Amén.
