“Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35.

“Prayer is in fact the recognition of our limits and our dependence: we come from God, we are of God, and to God we return.” Pope St. John Paul II.

Lord Jesus, You set this profound example for us. You who are King of kings, Lord of lords, went off to be alone, in the dark, and pray.  We too could benefit immensely from time alone, in prayer, with no distractions. Grant us the grace of this discipline – to go off alone and pray. Amen.

Señor Jesús, Tú estableciste este profundo ejemplo. Tú, que eres Rey de reyes, Señor de señores, te fuiste a estar solo, en la oscuridad, y a orar.  Nosotros también podríamos beneficiarnos inmensamente del tiempo a solas, en oración, sin distracciones. Concédenos la gracia de esta disciplina: irnos solos y orar. Amén.
