“At that time: Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves; and he was transfigured before them, and his garments became glistening, intensely white, as no fuller on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus . . .  And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud. “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.” Mark 9:2-4, 7.

Lord Jesus Your transfiguration, like Your baptism and prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, enable us to see for a moment the intimate personal relation between You and Your Heavenly Father. But we also see Your close contact with an earthly way of life, a life ending in death, and the overlapping of future glory with present difficulties in one profound mystery. Create this bond in us also. Amen.

Y allí se les apareció Elías y Moisés; que estaban hablando con Jesús...  Y una nube los eclipsó, y una voz salió de la nube. "Este es mi Hijo amado; escúchenlo". Marcos 9:2-4, 7.

Señor Jesús, Tu transfiguración, como Tu bautismo y oración en el huerto de Getsemaní, nos permite ver por un momento la íntima relación personal entre Tú y Tu Padre Celestial. Pero también vemos Tu estrecho contacto con una forma de vida terrenal, una vida que termina en muerte, y la superposición de la gloria futura con las dificultades presentes en un misterio profundo. Crea este vínculo en nosotros también. Amén.
