“Jesus told his disciples a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor regarded man . . . For a while he refused; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will vindicate her, or she will wear me out by her continued coming.” Luke 18: 1-5.

“Never give up on prayer…and should you find dryness and difficulty, persevere in it for this very reason.  God often desires to see what love your soul has, and love is not tried by ease and satisfaction.” St. John of the Cross.

Lord Jesus, we are weak and can easily lose heart when our prayers take time to be answered. Instill in us Your Spirit of perseverance that even against all odds we may not lose faith but struggle on, for in Your time we shall arrive. Amen.

"Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos una parábola, en el sentido de que siempre deben orar y no desanimarse. Él dijo: "En cierta ciudad había un juez que ni temía a Dios ni consideraba al hombre... Durante un tiempo se negó; pero después se dijo a sí mismo: "Aunque no temo a Dios ni considero al hombre, sin embargo, porque esta viuda me molesta, la reivindicaré, o ella me desgastará por su continua venida". Lucas 18:1-5.

"Nunca renuncies a la oración... y si encuentras sequedad y dificultad, persevera en ella por esta misma razón.  Dios a menudo desea ver qué amor tiene tu alma, y el amor no se prueba con facilidad y satisfacción". San Juan de la Cruz.

Señor Jesús, somos débiles y podemos desanimarnos fácilmente cuando nuestras oraciones toman tiempo para ser respondidas. Inculca en nosotros Tu Espíritu de perseverancia para que, incluso contra todo pronóstico, no perdamos la fe, sino que luchemos, porque en Tu tiempo llegaremos. Amén.
