“The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also the chalice, after supper, saying, “This chalice is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the chalice, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.
“Jesus has made Himself the bread of life, to give us life. Night and day, He is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist, come back to that adoration.” St. Teresa of Calcutta
Lord Jesus, thank you for giving us the Eucharist, the bread and blood of Heaven. May we strive to prepare ourselves to receive you worthily in our lives, you the true and awesome God; that our lives may be directed by you rather than our own selfish motives and ideas. Amen.
