Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11, 2021

“When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side . . .  Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” John 20:20-23.

“Confession is the soul’s bath, even a clean and unoccupied room gathers dust; return after a week and you shall see that it needs dusting again.” St. Padre Pio

Lord Jesus we crucified you and even pierced your heart from which flowed blood and water to purify us. In your mercy you made the sacrament of confession that we may be washed clean of our sins. May we frequent the sacraments of your mercy: Penance and the Eucharist to share fully in the Mercy your heart shares with us. Amen.

"Cuando él había dicho esto, les mostró sus manos y su costado ...  Jesús les dijo de nuevo: "La paz esté con ustedes. Como el Padre me envió a mí, así los envío." Y dicho esto, soplo sobre ellos, y les dijo: "Reciban al Espíritu Santo. A quienes les perdonen sus pecados les serán perdonados y  a quienes se los retengan, les serán retenidos." Juan 20:20-23.

Señor Jesús te crucificamos e incluso perforamos tu corazón del cual fluyó sangre y agua para purificarnos. En tu misericordia hiciste el sacramento de la confesión para lavarnos limpios de nuestros pecados. Que frecuentemos los sacramentos de tu misericordia: Penitencia y eucaristía para compartir plenamente la Misericordia que tu corazón comparte con nosotros. amén.
